Hi, I'm Michael. If you have gotten this far, you probably already know that I run Local Digital, an SEO agency based in Sydney, but I live on the Gold Coast.
Over the past 15 years I've worked at global digital agencies, built and sold affiliate websites, and now run my own agency. I've seen SEO from every angle - agency side, client side, and as a business owner relying on it for my own revenue.
What that means for you is pretty straightforward: you get someone who's done this at scale, with a team of senior SEO consultants backing them up, but you're working directly with me. No account managers. No juniors. Just experienced SEO without the typical agency bloat.
If you're a Gold Coast or SE Queensland business that needs SEO done properly, and you want to work with someone who's been in the trenches for years, let's talk.
I do things a bit differently... Most Gold Coast SEO consultants are solo operators - which is fine until they're on holiday, or swamped, or you need something outside their specific expertise.
Most agencies give you an account manager and a revolving door of staff - which is fine until you realise you're paying premium rates for junior work.
I've structured things differently. You work directly with me, but I have a team of senior SEO specialists in Sydney who I can pull in when needed. Technical issues that need a developer's eye. Content projects that need scaling. Link building campaigns that need dedicated outreach.
You get the direct access and attention of a consultant, with the resources and depth of an agency, at consultant pricing.
Global agency work: I spent years at enterprise-level agencies working on campaigns for major brands. That means I've seen what works at scale, dealt with complex technical SEO issues, and managed campaigns with serious budgets and expectations. I’ve worked with behemoths like eBay (including helping them recover from a major Google penalty back in 2015), as well as household-name brands like Harvey Norman, iiNet and Suncorp with big budgets... and I’ve also worked with businesses that had little to no budget at all.
Running Local Digital: I've been running my own agency for 10 years now. That means I understand SEO from the business owner's perspective - what actually moves the needle vs what looks good in a report.
Affiliate sites: I've built, ranked, and sold affiliate websites. When it's your own money on the line, you learn very quickly what works and what doesn't. I don't recommend strategies I wouldn't use on my own sites.
The point isn't to list credentials - it's that I've done SEO in situations where the stakes were real, the budgets were serious, and the results had to show up.
I mainly work with established businesses that understand SEO is a long-term play.
That might be service businesses competing in their local market - lawyers, accountants, tradies, medical practices. Or e-commerce stores that need to compete nationally. Or B2B companies with longer sales cycles where SEO feeds into the overall marketing strategy.
What they all have in common: they're past the startup phase, they have revenue, and they're looking to build a reliable channel that keeps bringing in customers without constantly paying for ads.
I'm pretty selective about who I take on.
If you're brand new and counting on SEO to be your first source of customers, we're not the right fit. SEO takes months to work properly. If you need results next month, you need Google Ads or another channel first.
I work best with businesses that see SEO as building an asset - something that takes time upfront but pays off for years. The kind of client who's willing to commit to 12+ months because they understand that's how you build real, sustainable growth.
If that's you, we should talk.
